This residential infill scheme within the West Wimbledon Conservation Area provides a two-bedroom apartment above nine replacement garages.
The contemporary building adopts a deliberately restrained architectural language, responding sensitively to the site’s unusual triangular geometry and its former use as a garage court. The massing and scale have been carefully considered to integrate comfortably within the surrounding residential context.
Vertical cedar timber cladding wraps the building to create a cohesive and organic form, concealing the visual clutter typically associated with garage elevations and unifying the development into a single, legible architectural expression. A green roof enhances the outlook from neighbouring flats while contributing to biodiversity and environmental performance, and integrated vertical louvres mitigate overlooking and safeguard privacy.
