Planning applications have been submitted for a small residential development within the Metropolitan Green Belt and the Chilterns National Landscape (formerly AONB), near High Wycombe.
This application is for a four-bedroom private house, conceived as a simple L-shaped barn set within a generous open garden, reinstating the site’s original amenity use. Its restrained form and palette of materials are deliberately subservient to the nearby listed building, ensuring the
development sits comfortably within its sensitive setting.
The proposal includes a comprehensive landscape strategy that removes extensive areas of 2m high close-boarded fencing and tarmac, replacing them with post-and-rail fencing and significantly enhanced soft landscaping, opening up views across the site.
The design has been developed in accordance with the Chilterns Buildings Design Guide.
