Location | West Street, Farnham
Client | Chapter One
Status | 2024
Twenty-three zero-carbon apartments have been completed within Farnham town centre and the Farnham Conservation Area, transforming a previously underused site back to its historic residential purpose. The development provides a collection of high-quality one- and two-bedroom apartments, carefully integrated into the urban fabric of this historic market town.
Set discreetly behind two heritage-listed buildings, the scheme is organised around a calm internal courtyard, with the Grade I listed St Andrew’s Church forming a striking and memorable
backdrop. Alongside its architectural and contextual sensitivity, the project establishes a strong environmental agenda, incorporating an intelligent solar-sharing system, graphene nano-technology heating and solar heat-battery hot water storage to support genuinely low-carbon living.
Building on the success of this scheme, construction has now commenced on five new two-bedroom houses directly opposite, further extending the commitment to sustainable, design-led town-centre housing.
