Coach House Lane
This contemporary detached house, located close to Wimbledon Village in London, has recently been completed for a private client.
The architectural concept is derived from a careful response to the site’s constraints and opportunities. The composition is defined by strong horizontal elements, with a lightweight, timber-clad upper storey appearing to float above a solid
rendered masonry plinth, giving the building a clear hierarchy and refined presence.
At the heart of the house, a cantilevered steel and timber staircase is conceived as a sculptural element. It anchors the plan and acts as the spatial focus of the home, around which the principal living spaces unfold.
