This 9,500 sq ft family house with an integrated covered swimming pool is approaching completion.
Set within a private Arts and Crafts estate in Esher, the brief called for a contemporary family home that responds sensitively to the established character of its setting. The design balances a modern architectural language with a careful reading of local scale, proportion, and material
tradition.
The resulting palette combines Petersen brickwork with clay tile–clad, overhanging eaves, creating a strong and distinctive identity while remaining firmly grounded in its context. The interplay of solid masonry and deep eaves lends the house both presence and restraint, allowing it to sit comfortably within the estate.
